When to Consider Switching Providers
After Your First Session
Following your initial appointment, you’ll receive a Provider Review Assessment.
In this assessment, you can:
- Rate your experience on a 1–10 scale
- Indicate if you’d like to switch providers
- Trigger an automatic alert to our Care Team if you rate the session a 6 or below
Giving It a Few Sessions
Sometimes it takes more than one meeting to know if the match feels right. Consider trying 2–3 sessions before requesting a change, since:
- First sessions focus on learning about your history and goals
- Therapeutic relationships naturally take time to develop
- Feeling nervous early on is normal
How to Request a Provider Switch
Option 1: Through the Provider Review Assessment
After your first session:
- Complete your Provider Review Assessment
- Rate your match
- Select the option to switch providers
- Our Care Team will be notified automatically

Adding a New Provider
Some clients benefit from more than one type of therapy. You may want:
- To add family or couples counseling while continuing with your individual therapist
- To add individual therapy while continuing with a couples or family therapist
- To explore additional specialties or support areas
How to Add a Provider

A Care Coordinator will:
- Learn what type of additional support you’re seeking
- Recommend available providers
- Help you schedule your first session
- Ensure your providers understand your goals (with your permission)
Adding a provider does not replace or interrupt your existing provider—you can maintain both simultaneously.
What Happens After Submitting a Request
For Switching or Adding a Provider
A Care Coordinator will:
- Contact you to discuss your needs and preferences
- Recommend providers based on availability, specialty, and fit
- Help you schedule with your new or additional provider
Booking Sessions
- If switching providers, cancel any upcoming appointments with your previous provider
- For new providers, book your first session directly in the app
- After your first session with any new provider, you'll receive a new Provider Review Assessment
Insurance Considerations
- Ensure any new provider you meet with is in-network (if using insurance)
- Copays and benefits will remain the same
- No interruption to active coverage
For EAP Clients
- You can switch or add providers within your EAP network
- You must use remaining sessions before the expiration date
- Sessions remain 45 minutes
Continuity of Care
- Previous session notes are part of your secure clinical record
- New providers may review relevant history to better support you
- You remain in control of what you want to share or emphasize

- Availability that matches your schedule
- Insurance coverage, if applicable
- The type of therapy you’re seeking (individual, couples, family, specialty areas)
