How ReachLink matches you with the right therapist based on your needs, preferences, and insurance coverage
ReachLink uses a personalized, multi-factor matching process to ensure you are paired with a provider who fits your clinical needs, preferences, and scheduling requirements. Our goal is to create strong therapeutic relationships that support consistent care and positive outcomes.
What We Consider When Matching You
1. Age Requirements
Providers may have age restrictions (e.g., adults only).
You will only see providers who clinically experienced to treat your age group.
2. Location & Licensing
Therapists must be licensed in the state where you will physically be located during each session.
Matching includes:
- Your current state
- Provider’s licensing state(s)
- Multi-state licensure when available
Your provider list automatically adjusts based on this requirement.
3. Insurance Benefits & Network Eligibility
Your available provider list depends on your insurance status:
- Insurance clients: Only in-network providers appear after verification
- EAP clients: See providers authorized under your EAP program
- Self-pay clients: Can see all available providers
Verification ensures your sessions are covered and reduces unexpected costs.
4. Demographic Preferences (Optional)
Some clients prefer working with a provider who shares certain demographic traits.
When indicated, we attempt to match based on:
- Gender
- Cultural background
- Language
- Lived experience
These preferences are honored whenever possible but are not required to receive care.
5. Therapy Style & Personality Fit
Therapists differ in communication style and therapeutic approach. Clients can indicate preferences such as:
- Collaborative or supportive
- Structured or goal-oriented
- More conversational or more guided
- Direct vs. gentle feedback styles
Providers list their style in their clinical profiles to help clients choose a good relational fit.
6. Therapeutic Modalities
If you have a preference or clinical need, we match you with providers trained in specific modalities such as:
- CBT
- DBT-Informed
- ACT
- Psychodynamic therapy
- Mindfulness-based approaches
- Trauma-informed care
These help tailor therapy to your goals and symptoms.
7. Clinical Specialties
Providers are matched based on their experience with specific concerns, including:
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Stress & burnout
- Trauma / PTSD
- Relationship issues
- Grief
- LGBTQ+ concerns
- Life transitions
- Work-related stress
- Family conflict
Matching ensures you’re paired with someone experienced in the issues you want to address.
8. Scheduling & Availability
You’ll only be shown providers offering appointment times that align with your scheduling needs:
- Mornings
- Evenings
- Weekends
- Lunchtime sessions
- Weekly or biweekly availability
Consistent scheduling options help you maintain continuity of care.
How the Matching Process Works
- Complete onboarding: Provide your location, insurance information, preferences, and medical intake.
- Insurance verification: Once verified, your provider list filters to in-network options.
- Matching algorithm: Automatically filters out providers who don’t meet your age, location, or insurance requirements.
- Preference refinement: Your demographic, style, and clinical preferences help surface your best matches.
- Choose your provider: You select a provider and book an available appointment time.
- Confirm your session: Add payment information and confirm once insurance (if applicable) is verified.
